Growing up right across the street from the library in my small hometown of LeSueur, I was at the library every day and attended every event during the amazing summer program they put on. So you can imagine when the head librarian, Dianne, asked me to work for her and take over the coordinating of those events I had loved my whole childhood, I was over the moon! From 2016 to 2020, I coordinated the Waseca-LeSueur Public library's summer reading program where we get kids pumped to read with various events and a summer-long reading contest. Some of the most memorable events included our dusk-to-dawn read-athon which included an outdoor concert and lots and lots of reading, the weekly Lego club, and Harry Potter trivia nights.  It was so rewarding going to my job everyday knowing that I was creating memories for the kids and helping them learn (and love) to read.
